The brain is an organ with which we think that we think.
"King without a Crown" implies that we are in a dream state representing a picture of distorted reality (the "trip"). The Lubavitcher Rebbe, King Messiah, the only one who is truly awake and stands above the dream state, has announced and even explained:
"In a single moment, we can all wake up from the dream of exile and open our eyes to the true reality of our existence - the perfect world of Messiah. Everyone can immediately awaken himself from his dream, so that today, in fact this very moment, we all open our eyes and see Messiah, in the flesh, the soul within the body, with us, here."
"We find ourselves already in the days of Messiah. We only need to open our eyes to see that the true and complete Redemption already exists in the simple sense."
"Is it possible to have bigger treasure than what so many generations waited for - the coming of The Messiah? This treasure exists openly in the middle of the day when the sun is shining...Nevertheless, they don't notice him, because they look to the side, busy with other things... "
The Redemption and all of its components is before our eyes. But our bent sense of reality responds by saying "his words cannot be taken literally and Redemption is only a dream, a hope, a vision". When we see the hardships around us we relate to that as reality. But the prophetic promise of the immediate Redemption we relate to as a dream.
Take the Leap or Stay Asleep
Our current state is similar to a blind man walking on the road and stretching out his hand groping to find the way. He finds the shoulder of another person going in front, leaning on him and feeling safe. But he does not know that his leader, in reality, is also blind, and searching on whom to lean. So he also finds the arm of the blind going in front of both of them. And all three of them go in circles, with each minute increasing the danger that one of them will stumble and they all fall.
A prophet is called a seer, attempting to convince the blind population to believe ("to see") the reality as it truly is. There are those who believe in what the prophet said (perhaps because they saw that he has a track record of always being right), and those who don't believe what they cannot see (or understand) themselves. Because, according to Maimonides, the whole object of the Prophets and the Sages was to declare that a limit is set to human reason where it must halt.
